“It’s an animalistic thing where you’re using your ribs to protect your heart. The heart has been injured in some way. When you learn to open yourself up, it’s amazing the transformation that takes place: the breath becomes fuller. The heart becomes open. They’re vulnerable, but there’s something so amazing about brave vulnerability. You always have to fight for that as a creative person because it’s so easy to get clamped down. Sometimes the more sensitive of us, and the more “in moment” we are, the more sensitive we are, sometimes we need help from someone else, so that we can reopen.”
